Bring Back The Light
Bring Back the Light is an organisation dedicated to protecting fireflies by creating chemical-free environments that do not affect their natural strength and behaviour. Due to climate change, light pollution, and habitat loss, firefly populations are declining. The organisation studies fireflies to better understand how their populations can be increased. Bring Back the Light was founded in 2019 by Wayan Wardika. What began as a small project grew as biologists were brought in to conduct research and help transform the initiative into an organisation focused on restoring firefly habitats. Habitat loss remains one of the biggest challenges, as it makes it increasingly difficult to find safe spaces for fireflies to thrive.

The organisation is working to expand its impact by collaborating with local farmers to create larger, chemical-free areas for fireflies. They are also aiming to become an officially recognised organisation and are seeking partnerships with research agencies to gather more scientific data on fireflies.
To support their work, Bring Back the Light has created an eco-tourism program called The Fireflies Journey, where visitors can observe fireflies and learn about their importance. The program helps raise funds that go directly toward conservation efforts.
Bring Back the Light measures its success by releasing healthy fireflies back into their natural habitats and maintaining chemical-free environments through strong collaboration with local farming communities.
